Understanding Dental Insurance
To ensure that you have the best dental experience, we would like to share some of the things we’ve learned working with dental insurance companies.
The amount of coverage that you have is based on how much your employer budgeted for buying insurance. The amount of coverage is not based on your dental needs. That is where we come in…
Our job is to make recommendations based on what best for your oral health, not whether if it is covered by your insurance policy. We will work with you and go over all of your treatment options before deciding on a treatment plan.
We encourage all of our patents to take an active role in their oral health and look at dental insurance as an aid to help them achieve their oral health goals.
Our team has plenty of experience working with dental insurance providers. We want to make the whole process easy, smooth and enjoyable. We can help you understand your dental plan and clarify any questions about your coverage.
In some cases, your dental benefits coverage may reduce due to cutting costs. That means that treatments and services that were covered before may not be covered anymore. That’s why it’s important to stay up to date with your benefits terms and conditions.
If there are changes to your insurance policy, they will NOT inform us. This is your responsibility.
Dental insurance coverage rarely covers 100% of your treatment costs. This means that you’re ultimately responsible for paying for your treatment fees.
Your insurance coverage is a contract between you, your employer and insurance provider. Your dentist has no control over how much coverage or what services are covered under your benefits plan.
We can send a pre authorization to your insurance provider to confirm your coverage. The insurance will send the response to you and not us. Please call our office when you receive the response so we can help you get the treatment you need.
We follow very strict protocols recommended from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.
We take this responsibility very seriously.
We have a state of the art sterilization area.
We test our sterilizer daily to ensure that they are working properly in killing bacteria and viruses.
We use disinfectant soap, gloves and masks and chemical disinfectant on counter tops and surfaces.
We sterilize all equipment before and after each use.
We also use disposable materials.
If you have any questions or would like to see a copy of our infection control protocols, please don’t hesitate to ask.
